As we join Massachusetts in commemorating 250 years of American history, the Town of Franklin Massachusetts rich legacy—home to America’s first public lending library and a symbol of progress through education, culture, and civic engagement—reminds us that the stories of the past shape the communities of today.

The Town of Franklin Department of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy asked community organizers to submit their 2025 programming for inclusion in the #FranklinMA250 program booklet. This booklet acts as both a program guide as well as sharing snippets of Franklin’s extensive community history.

Programs shared in this booklet (and throughout the Franklin community) are committed to building inclusive, meaningful experiences that reflect the complexity of our shared history.

This first booklet publication has been stylized as a ‘vintage academic yearbook,’ highlights programs that align with the overarching historical relevance to national MA250 campaign.
